The mayor of the Libertador Municipality, Carmen Meléndez, reported that, as part of the Venezuela Renace Plan, a total of 16,605 inspections have been carried out on buildings in Caracas after the earthquakes recorded on June 24.

Through his account in instructions, he explained that, according to the Traffic Light methodology, the results of the registration show that 64% of the buildings are certified Green (safe and habitable), 24% in Yellow (with recoverable damage) and 13% in Red (with serious structural damage).

“Through the Venezuela Renace Plan, ordered by our president Delcy Rodríguez, the Mayor's Office of Caracas, as the executing entity, is initially working on the reconstruction of more than twelve buildings that resulted in Green and Yellow,” he said.

The inspection tasks, which cover the 22 parishes of the capital, are carried out by a multidisciplinary team that includes engineers and community spokespersons, with the objective of ensuring the safety of families affected by earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5.
