The people of Caracas, in perfect civic, military and police fusion, are prepared and active to defend our sovereignty and the right of all Venezuelans to live in peace, said the mayor of the capital city, Carmen Melendez.

“We have activated each of the defense committees and subcommittees, maintaining the strictest adherence to the constitutional thread, to maintain peace, order and tranquility throughout our city,” said the burgomaster in a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

In this regard, he called on the people of Caracas to mobilize in protest and active resistance to this aggression of imperialism against our country.

In addition, Melendez, as the elected authority through the vote, joined the demand of the life faith of the Constitutional President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who was kidnapped by U.S. forces.
