The House of the Americas announced the 65th edition of its Literary Prize for 2025. On this occasion, unpublished works will be able to compete in: poetry, short stories, and studies on Latinos in the United States.

The works submitted must be governed by the following bases: 1. Works in Spanish may be submitted. Even those that have been printed in no more than half will be considered unpublished. 2. Only Latin American authors, natural or naturalized, may participate in poetry and short stories. 3. Authors of any nationality may compete for the award for Latino studies in the United States, provided that the book fits the topic being convened and 4. No author may submit more than one book per genre, or participate with a work in the process of being printed, even if it is unpublished, or that has won or opted for a national or international award until the decision of the Casa de las Américas Prize has been given. Nor will you be able to participate in a genre in which you have already won this award, in any of the previous five years.

On the other hand, a single and indivisible prize will be awarded for each genre, consisting of three thousand dollars or its equivalent in the corresponding national currency, and the publication of the work by the Casa de las Américas. Mentions will be awarded if the jury deems them necessary, without this implying remuneration or editorial commitment on the part of the Casa de las Américas.

The works will also be signed with a pseudonym; in addition, La Casa de las Américas reserves the right to publish, both in printed and digital formats, of what will be considered the first edition of the winning works. In the first case, publication rights cover up to a maximum of 10,000 copies, even if they are a co-edition or co-published reprints. This right includes not only obvious economic aspects, but also all the graphic and other characteristics of the aforementioned first edition.

In the same way, the works will in no case exceed five hundred pages (written in Times New Roman 12, in space and a half). Authors must download and fill out the registration form found at the following link: Form

Both the registration form and the pdf of the competing work must be sent, as attachments to the same message, to the email addresses: premiocasa (Ocasa.cult.cu) and Premiocasa2025M gmail.com. The deadline for admission will close on February 28, 2025 at 12 p.m., Havana time. The awards will be announced on April 25, 2025. Failure to comply with any of these bases would lead to the invalidation of the prize awarded.
