CELAC convenes an extraordinary session for next Thursday

The pro tempore president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), Xiomara Castro, called for an emergency meeting to convene an emergency meeting with the region's presidents and heads of state.
Through a statement released on her social networks, the president of Honduras also indicated that the above-mentioned call is for Thursday, January 30 at 11 in the morning. The agenda of the meeting will cover topics such as migration, the environment and Latin American and Caribbean unity.
“In this regard, it is reported that this meeting has been scheduled in a hybrid format, and it should also be noted that His Excellency Mr. Gustavo Petro Urrego, President of the Republic of Colombia, incoming CELAC, has confirmed his participation in person in Tegucigalpa,” Castro said.
