As part of its training program, the Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Foundation (CELARG) opened registrations for the Free Seminar: “Petroleum in the History of Venezuela (First Moment 1917-1945)”.
This academic activity will begin on January 23 and will run until February 13, at 4:00 p.m., under the direction of Professor Manuel Carrero.
The seminar will address the period 1917-1945 as the decisive phase of Venezuela's integration into contemporary capitalism and the transformation of national culture under the influence of the American way of life. Professor Carrero will guide the analysis of how foreign monopolies projected the country as a strategic reserve, placing it at the center of global geopolitics.
Participation is free of charge. Those who wish to attend must formalize their registration using the following digital form: https://forms.gle/3uv3ovy2Ev7uQXfn9
The study of this background is proposed as an imperative tool for understanding the current aggressions and blockades against the nation. By reviewing the strategies of imperialist intervention of the 20th century, the seminar seeks to strengthen sovereign consciousness in the face of the reconfiguration of world power and the dispute over energy resources.
