The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG) will hold the Free Seminar: “A Critical-Hermeneutical Introduction to the Intellectual and Political Itinerary of José Carlos Mariátegui's Indo-American Socialism”.

The academic activity will take place from January 23 to February 20, starting at 4:00 in the afternoon, in the CELARG spaces. Interested parties must register their data on the link they shared on the page of the Ministry for Culture.

The seminar, framed in the National Program for Advanced Training in Our American Studies, will be led by Professor Javier Biardeau. The training proposal will address the transition of Mariátegui (1917-1930) from modernism to heterodox Marxism, highlighting his capacity to overcome the European dogmatic “pattern” and interpret regional reality autonomously.

This space for discussion seeks to reconstruct its own political subjectivity and analyze the validity of “ Indo-American Socialism” as a central category for continental identity and the transformation of social structures in Our America.
