CENAL certified 63 participants from chairs of literature in Nueva Esparta

Last Saturday, October 4th, the National Book Center (CENAL) awarded certificates to 63 participants in the chairs “Literature for Children and Youth” and “Venezuelan Literature, which it taught in Nueva Esparta, thanks to the coordinated work with the entity's State Cabinet of Culture and various local institutions.

The award ceremony was held at the Casa de la Cultura Monsignor Nicolás Eugenio Navarro, in La Asunción, where the manager of CENAL Strategies, Yris Villamizar; the Book Specialist of the State Office of Culture of Nueva Esparta, Jesús Velásquez; the coordinator of Resources for Learning of the entity's Center for the Development of Educational Quality, Migdalis Lezama; the writer and promoter of reading José Javier Sánchez and the facilitators of the chairs Mirimarit Parada, Tatiana Bustamante, Reina Rada, Evelia Clorinda Fuentes and Luis Emilio Romero.

The strategy manager of CENAL, Yris Villamizar, stressed that these programs strengthen reading mediation and the evaluation of Venezuelan literature from classrooms and communities. “The defense of reading is also the defense of our identity,” he said.

The training sessions were held in schools and cultural spaces in the state, with the participation of teachers, students, writers and reading promoters.

CENAL extended the invitation to teachers, students, agents related to the book and the community in general from all over the country to participate in these literary training and mediation programs for reading that they organize.
