CENAL held the workshop “How to tell stories” to train Missión Cultura animators

The National Book Center (CENAL) trained Cultural Mission animators from San Bernardino Parish, in Caracas, in oral storytelling techniques to incorporate reading and recreation activities into temporary camps during the holiday season.

The workshop “How to tell stories”, provided by educator Martha González, provided tools to work on narrative structure, body expression, dramatization, characterization of characters and group dynamics.

The training is part of the National Bicentennial Reading Plan, aimed at promoting the reading habit among boys, girls and adolescents. “Through stories, we can learn about our culture and connect with positive emotions,” González said.

During the day, the participants also carried out exercises to read and dramatize stories created by themselves, which will later be incorporated into the cultural program of the Route of Hope in the temporary camps.
