The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, met this Wednesday in New York with the Prime Minister of Belize, John Briceño, to strengthen ties of cooperation and review areas of mutual development.
During the meeting, in the context of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the Venezuelan Foreign Minister conveyed greetings from President Nicolás Maduro to the Belizean Prime Minister.
In addition, they addressed issues of the bilateral relationship of cooperation and friendship, regional integration and solidarity in multilateral settings.
“Our nations share a long history of friendship that dates back to 1989, and we have continued to strengthen our ties of cooperation in key areas for development,” Gil said through his Telegram channel.
Caracas and Belmopán established diplomatic relations on April 25, 1989. They have been strengthened since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution under the leadership of Commander Hugo Chávez and his commitment to the unity of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, a legacy that President Maduro continues, through Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.
