The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, rejected this Monday Josep Borrell's interventionist and aggressive management against the South American nation for five years as High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
In a message posted on his social networks, Gil said that “Borrell is leaving the EU, after 5 years of trying to lie and harm Venezuela, inspired by his old colonialist thinking. Threatening once again the Venezuelan people to apply sanctions and ignoring our democracy, which gives enough lessons to old Europe,” he said.
“Failure after failure! ... a term ends today with more lies about our country, complicated by its defeats, the historic ones against the European empire and the recent ones inflicted by the Bolivarian Revolution,” recalled the Venezuelan diplomat.
Finally, he pointed out that every defeat should serve Europe as a lesson. “We are children of Bolívar and the victory for our independence has been ours for more than 200 years,” he emphasized.
