The People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, commemorated the Day of National Dignity in honor of the return of President Hugo Chávez to power in 2002, after a fascist coup d'etat.
“Today we proudly celebrate the Day of National Dignity in commemoration of the return of President Hugo Chávez to power in 2002, after the fascist coup attempt that sought to overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution and impose a dictatorship with the support of the United States,” Gil said in a post on his social networks.
He also asserted that on this date, “we reaffirm our resistance and unity” in defense of democracy and sovereignty, especially in the face of the constant economic aggression that the Venezuelan people face from an empire in decline.
