The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, criticized Canada's statement on Wednesday regarding the arrest of Rocío San Miguel, accused of his participation in the assassination plan against the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister pointed out that “the Government of Canada, trapped in its superiority complex, believing itself to be an empire and out of its moral misery, insists on attacking Venezuela.”
He stressed that the Canadian State is unable “to condemn real violations of human rights in the world, such as the genocide in Gaza, and with a shameful record in its own territory, it demonstrates how ruined and lying it can be to play the game against terrorists and destabilizers.”
Last Sunday, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, confirmed the arrest of San Miguel because of his involvement in the conspiracy and attempted assassination plot called “White Bracelet”, whose objective was to attempt the life of the head of state and other senior officials.
