The country's minister of popular power for foreign relations, Yván Gil, denounced that the statements of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio demonstrate his hatred for Latin America and the Caribbean, regarding the press conference at which he presented an assessment of his administration.

Through his telegram channel, Gil called the words of the US official “liars” and motivated by private interests, noting that Rubio, with 14 years as a senator and one year as Secretary of State, has shown no achievements in foreign policy.

To the same extent, he indicated that Rubio's trajectory focuses on promoting coups d'etat, military interventions, wars and regime changes, ignoring the majority opinion of the American people. “This policy has left blood and death all over the planet.”

He commented that Rubio acts in alliance with the most corrupt Latin American extreme right and with the Miami mafias that finance his
lobby, and that his speech seeks to appropriate the country's natural resources, referring to the fact that he is lying when they say that Venezuela must “return to the United States all the oil, land and other assets that were previously stolen from us.”

Gil stressed that these attacks and the dissemination of “fake news” reflect a strategy of appropriating Venezuelan oil, land, minerals and other resources, and that they do not represent the interests of the American people, who reject these interventions.
