On July 12, 2012, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, reaffirmed that self-criticism of the Revolution was valid, but that does not mean that they will support the bourgeoisie that hates the people and does not care about their suffering.

“You have to criticize with good reason, damn it, but that doesn't mean they're going to support the bourgeoisie. Because that is a betrayal of the Revolution, one can criticize the Revolution, but this is the path to the salvation of the Fatherland, so that no one should be mistaken or confused,” he said from the Anzoátegui state.

He recalled the support of the people of Venezuela, who overcame difficulties during the strike promoted by the bourgeoisie in 2002. “... if we had to eat stones we would eat stones, but don't give up boy, don't give up shit he told me. And I said to him: 'I'm not going to give up, just as I will never give up again in the battle for the people, so the Venezuelan people have demonstrated more maturity and awareness every day, 'he said.

In addition, he emphasized that in all these years those sectors of the opposition all they had demonstrated was how little they cared about Venezuelans. “They are not interested in the life of the People and least of all the life of the poor, they hate the People, they don't care at all about the suffering of the People. We, you know that we can fail, as we often fail, but what we have here in our chest, in our hearts, is the love of the good for the People and for those most in need,” he said.
