Gregory Bovino, commander
in chief of the United States (US) Border Patrol, was removed from the
position he held since 2019, amid a wave of outrage over the criminal
actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
This decision
came after the assassination of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, last week, and
Renée Good, in early January, in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, which
led to massive protests against ICE in several locations in the North American nation.
The former head of ICE,
nicknamed the “White House border czar”, Tom Homan, was appointed by
President Donald Trump to head the so-called
law enforcement agencies in the state of Minnesota, according to international media.
