Venezuela and Brazil coordinate care for families affected by double earthquakes

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a working meeting this Tuesday with the Minister of Defense of the Federative Republic of Brazil, José Múcio Monteiro, special envoy of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to strengthen bilateral cooperation after the emergency generated by the earthquakes of June 24.
Rodríguez thanked the Brazilian Government for its immediate support, which from the outset expressed its willingness to accompany the Venezuelan people in the work of care, damage assessment and deployment of technical support. During the meeting, both delegations reviewed mechanisms to expand operational assistance and advance joint actions aimed at the recovery of affected areas.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil; the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Gustavo González López; the sectoral vice president of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez; the Minister of Popular Power for Housing, Paola Possani; the executive secretary of the General Staff for Transitional Camps, Héctor Rodríguez; and the president of the Commission for the Evaluation of Habitability of Housing and Infrastructure, Francisco Garcés.
The National Government reiterated its appreciation to the Venezuelan and international rescue teams that have contributed to the emergency response, stressing that regional cooperation is key to ensuring an effective and sustained response.
