Children's Cardiological Hospital held a blood donation day

The Dr. Gilberto Rodríguez Ochoa Latin American Children's Cardiological Hospital held a voluntary donation day this Sunday under the slogan “Donating blood is donating life”, with the participation of the People's Guard and Deputy Jehyson Guzmán, who came as donors.

The sector vice-president of Health, Ecosocialism, Science and Technology, Isabel Iturria, reported that the center has 220 pediatric interventions in 2026 and more than 15,100 since its opening, and noted that care is kept free for the entire population, in addition to remembering that blood is only obtained through the solidarity of those who donate. Iturria thanked the Guardia del Pueblo for their support and the volunteers who are constantly participating in these days.

The national commander of the People's Guard, Carlos Aigster, indicated that the institution is carrying out similar operations throughout the country and that more than 1,500 donors are active in blood banks in the national territory, and stated that these actions are part of the work they do in healthcare centers to guarantee the right to life and health.

The Children's Cardiology Hospital Blood Bank is open Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 11:30am, and between 1:30pm and 3:00pm, while on weekends it operates between 7:30am and 12:00pm and between 1:30pm and 4:00pm, and requirements to donate include being 18 years of age or older, presenting valid identification and being in adequate health conditions.

The day reaffirms the institutional commitment to the promotion of voluntary donation and to the guarantee of the right to health for the Venezuelan population. Donate blood. For life and peace.
