This Thursday, Chile's Central Unitary Workers (CUT) called for a national strike to demand tax and pension reform, wage increases, access to health and free education.
In addition, workers also reject the right-wing blockade in Congress on fundamental reforms.
“Unfortunately, nothing is respected in Parliament, no agreement, everything that has to do with the social issue is blocked, especially the reforms that have been proposed from the world of work,” said the president of the CUT, David Acuña.
The Government's disconnection with the social world is critical. “We were part of those who led this Government to sit there in La Moneda, but we feel that this disconnect exists today,” he said.
According to Prensa Latina, the national strike will take place in several cities in the South American country.
