China advocates close cooperation with Moscow

The authorities of the governments of China and Russia must maintain close cooperation at all levels, in order to deepen strategic interaction and business cooperation, to achieve development, said Chinese President Xi Jinping during a meeting with the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu.

“Both sides must maintain close cooperation at all levels and fully implement the consensus we reached with President Vladimir Putin,” said Xi. In addition, he emphasized the need to further strengthen Sino-Russian coordination in international and regional affairs, to fully embody the role of the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as well as to consolidate unity.

On September 4, 2024, at the Federal University of the Far East, the Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok, where both nations promoted strategic and comprehensive partnerships that are strengthened through different joint large scale projects in the economic, humanitarian, transport, energy and other fields.

At that meeting, President Putin expressed hope to identify new areas of cooperation and stressed the importance of following progress in mutual collaboration. The Eastern Economic Forum brought together more than 650 Russian business leaders and 44 representatives of foreign companies.
