China on Russia-US negotiations: We are happy to see efforts leading to peace in Ukraine

This Tuesday, the Government of the People's Republic of China welcomed the agreements that will help achieve peace in Ukraine, said the spokesman for the Asian Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, commenting on the negotiations that the delegations of the Russian Federation and the United States (USA) are holding in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, China always believes that dialogue and negotiation are the only viable way out of the crisis, and we are committed to promoting talks for peace,” the spokesman said during a press conference.

“We are happy to see all the efforts that lead to peace, including the agreement on peace talks reached between the United States and Russia,” he said.

The spokesperson expressed the hope that “all parties involved and interested can participate in the peace negotiations process in due time.”

This Tuesday, high-level delegations from Russia and the United States met in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, in order to normalize relations between the two powers and move towards an agreement on the conflict in Ukraine, as well as to prepare for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and the US president.
