China rejects Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip

This Wednesday, the government of the People's Republic of China expressed its firm opposition to Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip, which since October 2023 has claimed the lives of nearly 65,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

The Chinese government urged all parties to avoid further escalation in the region following the visit to the Zionist entity Israel by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, who transmitted to Tel Aviv the full support of the White House.

The spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, stated at a press conference that Beijing “condemns all acts that harm the civilian population and violate international law”, expressing his country's deep concern at the intensification of the offensive.

He also called on the Israeli government to “respond to the calls of the international community and to put an immediate end to its military operations” to move towards a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire to prevent a larger-scale humanitarian crisis.
