China rejects US actions in the Caribbean

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China has expressed its rejection of the United States military presence in the Caribbean, waters close to Venezuela, considering it an interference in the internal affairs of the South American country.
The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, recalled at a press conference that Beijing supports the 2014 declaration of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which recognizes the region as a zone of peace.
According to what was published by the Telesur portal, the diplomatic representative stressed that her country opposes measures that violate the Charter of the United Nations and the sovereignty of other States.
Mao indicated that they expect judicial cooperation from Washington within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements. He also urged intensified efforts to ensure stability and peace in Latin America and the Caribbean.
