The People's Republic of China imposed new sanctions on nine U.S. military companies for arms sales to the Taiwan region, according to a decision published this Wednesday on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The document notes that the United States (US) recently announced, once again, plans to sell arms to the Taiwan region, which seriously violates the principle of “one China” and the three joint communiqués, interferes in the internal affairs of Asia and undermined sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In accordance with Articles 3, 4, 6, 9 and 15 of China's Anti-Foreign Sanctions Act, the country decided to freeze the movable, immovable and all other types of property owned by: Sierra Nevada Corporation, Stick Rudder Enterprises LLC, Cubic Corporation, S3 AeroDefense, TCOM Limited Partnership, TexTore, Planate Management Group, ACT1 Federal and Exovera.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced that the State Department has approved a possible sale of various spare parts, including aviation parts, to Taiwan for $228 million.
The Asian giant considers Taiwan to be an integral part of China, and compliance with the one-nation principle is a mandatory condition for other states that wish to establish or maintain diplomatic relations with the country.
