The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Guo Jiakun, stated that the removal of Cuba from the list of nations that supposedly sponsor terrorism “is a historic debt that the United States (the United States) should have liquidated long ago.”
“China once again urges the United States to put itself on the right side of history, where the majority of the international community and individuals are, to lift the blockade of Cuba and sanctions as quickly as possible, and to stop hindering Cuba's economic and social development,” said spokesman Jiakun.
The Chinese representative, in statements to the press, stated that the removal of the Caribbean nation from the State Department's list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism, constitutes “a historic debt that the United States should have liquidated long ago.”
He also described the designation of Cuba as a State sponsor of terrorism as unfounded and meant that it represents a brutal interference and violation of the country's sovereignty and dignity, a decision that has been condemned and vigorously rejected by the overwhelming majority of the international community.
