The People's Republic of China warned that it will take all necessary measures to “ firmly protect the legitimate rights and interests” of its companies in the United Kingdom, in response to the sanctions imposed by the European country.

In a statement, officials from the Embassy of the Asian nation in London warned “the British side that China will oppose in stronger terms any action that harms China's interests”.

The text states that the United Kingdom's sanctions against Chinese companies are unilateral and are not based on international law, stressing that China has always maintained an objective and fair position on the situation surrounding Ukraine and has actively promoted peace negotiations and a political solution.

The United Kingdom announced on Thursday more than 50 new sanctions against individuals and entities from various sectors for Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. The companies Finder Technology, JUHANG Aviation Technology (Shenzhen) and Beijing Micropilot Flight Control Systems, were sanctioned as part of the anti-Russian measures.

In addition, the new sanctions also affect the Turkish company Cozum Yazilim Donanim Elektronik and two Belarusian entities, Planar and Precise Electro-Mechanics Plant, Sputnik reports on its website.
