The iconic monument of Christ the Redeemer in Brazil became a symbol of international cooperation as various images related to the emergency that Venezuela is going through after the recent earthquakes were projected onto its architectural structure.

This institutional humanitarian initiative seeks to sensitize global public opinion and activate mass collection mechanisms to provide logistical support to populations that suffered the greatest material impacts due to the seismic contingency.

The statue was illuminated with the national tricolor in shades of yellow, blue and red, serving as a visual platform for the dissemination of explicit messages of support such as "SOS Venezuela" and "Solidarity Without Borders. Donate Now.” This technical deployment with a high media impact is intended to channel social care to the country's most urgent needs, promoting the acquisition of basic supplies and international financial assistance to mitigate the effects of the natural disaster.

The action is part of a solidarity campaign jointly coordinated by the Catholic Church and the Caritas Foundation, whose strategic objective is to collect donations aimed at giving priority to more than five thousand affected people. According to the official statement issued by the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, the contributions collected will include shipments of clothing, food, medicine and economic resources that will be directly directed to programs for the reconstruction of housing and social infrastructure.

This important gesture expands the global support network to Venezuelan territory, where delegations from more than 31 countries have actively participated in rescue efforts, risk containment and civil assistance in the field.

International technical cooperation has been essential to make sustained progress in the partial rehabilitation of essential service infrastructures, making it possible to progressively stabilize electricity supply systems and telecommunications networks in the most affected areas of the country.
