The director general of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), commissioner Douglas Rico, reported on the arrest of a Colombian citizen who, through grooming, captured women to sexually abuse them.

According to information issued by the official, researchers, attached to the Coordination of Investigations of Crimes Against Persons of the Guarenas Municipal Delegation, during fieldwork, they apprehended Leonardo Restrepo García, a Colombian national, in the 27 de Febrero residential area, Guarenas parish, Miranda state.

Rico pointed out that thanks to field research, documentary expertise and psychological interviews, it was possible to locate and apprehend Restrepo, whose modus operandi was to capture young people through social networks, using the grooming modality, posing as a young man of the same age or contemporary with his victims, to gain their trust and then request intimate photos from them, and then coordinate encounters, in which he sexually abused them.

Finally, he assured that this “dangerous criminal was left to the order of the 21st Public Prosecutor's Office of the Criminal Judicial District of Miranda State.”
