Members of the Scientific, Criminal and
Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), who are stationed in the state of Mérida,
were able to clarify the murder of a 36-year-old man.
According to information published by the general
director of this body, Commissioner Douglas Rico, the investigation
began after the discovery of the body of Orlando Rodolfo Contreras Gutiérrez in the San Onofre sector, Mérida-El Vigía highway, Fernández Peña parish, Campo Elías municipality of the city of Mérida .
In this regard, it became known that the troops carried out cyber
patrols, telephone analysis, technical-scientific expertise and georeferencing analysis of the crime; this made it possible to establish the
identity and
whereabouts of those responsible, as well as to determine the modus operandi used.
“It was established that Jesús Yoel Ocando Murgas
(20) and Deiger Yoel Ocando Mantione (27) contacted Orlando through the Facebook
platform (Marketplace) to simulate the purchase of a Toyota vehicle, model Yaris.
At the conclusion of the meeting, and under the pretext of
verifying the operational status of the motor vehicle, the criminals
drove the victim to a desolate place. In the secluded location, the criminal
duo tried to strip the victim of the vehicle under threat of death.
Faced with the victim's resistance to the robbery, Deiger
shot him in the head area, leaving the body adjacent to the site,” he said.
