Cinemateca Nacional pays tribute to filmmaker Margot Benacerraf

The National Cinemateca Foundation (FCN) will celebrate a tribute from August 14 to 16 in honor of Margot Benacerraf, one of the most influential and emblematic filmmakers in our country, in the iconic Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts (MBA) in Caracas.

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Benacerraf's cinematic universe, enjoying a selection of his most representative works, including Reverón, Araya and Word of Women.

In addition, talks will be held with leading exponents of Venezuelan cinema and culture, who will share their experiences and reflections on the impact and legacy of this remarkable filmmaker.

In this regard, the Cinemateca invited all lovers of cinema, culture and art to join this celebration, which not only commemorates the life of Margot Benacerraf, but also highlights the importance of cinema as a medium for telling stories and reflecting Venezuelan identity.

  • Wednesday, August 14 at 3:00 p.m.

— Screening of “Reverón” and “Word of a Woman”.

— Discussion with Juan Calzadilla, César Cortéz and Asdrúbal Meléndez.

  • Thursday, August 15 at 3:00 p.m.

— Screening of “Araya”.

— Discussion with Luis Alberto Crespo.

  • Friday, August 16 at 3:00 p.m.

— Screening of “Madame Cinema”.

— Conversation with Jonathan Reverón.

— Talk at the Movie Store at 6:00 p.m. with Diego Arroyo Gil, author of “Yesterday's Salt”, memoirs by Margot Benacerraf.
