The traveling Ciudad Mural festival
plans to reach 500 works by 2026, as part of its expansion to promote
urban art and citizen coexistence in public spaces.
This was announced by the general producer
of the project, María Isabella Godoy, during an interview on the program
Contraste of Venezolana de Televisión, in which she highlighted that the initiative already has
more than 340 murals in 23 locations in the country.
He also highlighted that Ciudad Mural seeks to
transform communities into open-air galleries through the participation
of national and international artists together with community organizations.
At the same time, he stressed that starting in May they will visit towns such as
Chuao, Guarenas, Margarita Island, Yaracuy, among others.
“We are all converging in an
effort that allows us to create a broader platform to continue contributing
to the challenges facing the country and to continue betting from this perspective on
coexistence, peace and union,” he emphasized.
For his part, the plastic artist, Ramón
Pimentel, pointed out that this initiative makes it possible to make the country
's diverse contexts visible in a respectful way. “It's not a festival that comes, addresses
spaces and leaves; it's a process that builds social and cultural fabric hand in
hand with organized communities... It is a union of forces and knowledge that
is reflected in every wall,” he said.
It is important to highlight that this project integrates different disciplines such as muralism, photography, audiovisual, poetry and music, with the objective of strengthening regional identity and encouraging sociocultural participation.
