The vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero, reported this Saturday that the electoral body held 4,061 community meetings throughout the country to elect, in 8 states, the indigenous spokespersons to be elected by the authorities of the ancestral communities.

In addition, in telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he indicated that 100% of the voting stations are already installed in 88 voting centers, 111 polling stations.

“We have a total of 6598 spokeswomen who will be participating tomorrow. We have set up an electoral infrastructure of 88 voting centers, 111 polling stations and well, we informed the country that at 10 in the morning today we already had 100% of the polls installed,” he explained.

He stressed that this “is something unprecedented for the National Electoral Council”, since on Sunday, July 27, the Electoral Power carried out two electoral processes “on the same day, where the institutionality of the vote was undoubtedly strengthened”.
