The National Theater Company (CNT) visited the Carlos Fiol transitory camp, located in the Marapa Marina sector of Catia La Mar, La Guaira state, to hold a day of social and cultural support for refugee families in that space.
In the place there are 112 people distributed in 53 families, who lost their homes after the double earthquake of last June 24.
During the visit to this center, managed by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, the CNT team, led by its director Carlos Arroyo, offered a varied artistic program that included the presentation of Livia Méndez, actress of the stable cast, with an excerpt from the sainete “The Breakup”, by Rafael Guinand, for older adults.
Irabé Seguías, also an actress in the institution's permanent cast, coordinated recreational activities with educational games, reading children's stories and drawing for local boys and girls.
In addition, the activity was also accompanied by Yris Gil, executive director of the institution, and Marcos Gil, administrative director, who evaluated other needs of the population in that area.
In the coming days, the CNT is expected to continue its approaches to this and other temporary camps, with the addition of other activities and the participation of more artists, to maintain its commitment to bringing art and recreation as healing tools to those affected by the double earthquake.
