The National Theater Company (CNT) will represent Venezuela this week at the 15th International Theater Festival of Córdoba — Mercosur, in Argentina, with the purpose of encouraging the exchange of experiences and specifying proposals for cooperation, collaboration and artistic production between our country and the various nations present.

Venezuela will show its theatrical art with a proposal that combines scenic tradition with technological trends: the play “Lyric”, by the Venezuelan playwright Gustavo Ott, directed by Carlos Arroyo.

The piece, performed by the cast of the Portuguese state headquarters CNT, will present three performances this Tuesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 8 in the room of the María Castaña Independent Cultural Center.

The work immerses the audience in an intimate dome-shaped proposal to tell a raw but impactful story about violence and hate, leaving a strong message of peace and tolerance in society.

The director of CNT, Carlos Arroyo, highlighted the importance of this participation. “For Venezuela, it is vitally important to actively participate in internationally renowned events that contribute to publicizing Venezuelan theater, from its plays and playwrights to its cultural policies and festivals,” he said.

The 15th edition of the Córdoba — Mercosur Festival brings together companies from Argentina, Latin America and Europe, with productions from Spain, France, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela, among others. In total, attendees will be able to enjoy more than 100 theater, dance and performances, distributed in 21 spaces in the city of Córdoba and 20 locations in the province.
