This Saturday, May 2, Coche Island in Nueva Esparte became the epicenter of the regional fishing debate between authorities of the Bolivarian Government and the productive sector, who met at a strategic meeting to optimize the capture and commercialization of sardinella aurita.
The meeting included the active participation of the councils of Fishermen and Fishermen, Aquaculturists and Aquaculturists (CONPPAS) of the jurisdiction and sardine producers, who worked hand in hand with a multidisciplinary delegation led by affiliated representatives, Insoesca, CENIPA and Coresca, as well as the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
The assembly was held within the framework of the National Plan for Fisheries and Aquaculture, with the objective of evaluating the biological resource and listening to direct suggestions from sea workers. Among the key points addressed, the improvement of distribution channels and compliance with capture regulations to ensure the sustainability of the resource stood out.
With these actions, the National Executive reaffirms its commitment to local economic development and the strengthening of food sovereignty through the shared effort between the State and artisanal producers.
