In an effort to merge musical identity with the preservation of the environment, the spaces of the Art Network, located in the Niño Simón Commune of Cojedes state, hosted a training workshop dedicated to the Venezuelan Four, with the objective of teaching this national instrument from a creative perspective and ecological awareness.
The day was led by the artisan Yeiris Flores, who helped the participants to make detailed replicas of the four using only recycled materials such as cardboard and paper.
According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the technical process included the use of thread, needles, paint, glue and silicone for the assembly and finishing of the pieces, demonstrating that the use of sustainable resources is a powerful tool for artistic expression.
In addition to manual construction, the meeting had a solid theoretical component through a discussion facilitated by the heritage specialist, Jorge Silva, who delved into the historical relevance of the four, underlining its role as the backbone of Venezuela's sound identity and the importance of safeguarding this legacy in new generations.
This initiative is part of the continuous training programs promoted by cultural institutions in the region, with the objective of integrating traditional craft knowledge with pedagogical practices that promote the preservation of local traditions and the responsible use of disposable materials.
With these actions, the cultural sector of Cojedes reaffirms its commitment to comprehensive education, promoting the recognition of the Venezuelan Cuatro not only as a musical object, but as a symbol of resistance and popular creativity.
