During a new council of ministers, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, called for a national and international mobilization against the interfering threats of the president of the United States (USA), Donald Trump and in defense of the sovereignty of Colombia.
“The people have to take to the streets today, and that's why on Friday I invite them at 4 o'clock to accompany me because it is in company that you defend yourself against a monster like Trump,” the Colombian president said on Tuesday.
“I invite the citizens of Bogota and Cundinamarca to meet this Friday at 4:00 p.m. in Plaza de Bolívar,” he wrote on his account on the social network X.
The Colombian head of state denounced the discrediting campaign promoted by Washington in the fight against drugs and the war agenda of the United States in the region.
During the Council of Ministers, he explained the terrible consequences of a foreign invasion of his country and called on the world to fight against Donald Trump's threats and aggressions.
Petro also addressed the Colombian ambassador to North America and urged him to bring “his reasons wherever he touches”, alluding to the need to maintain dialogue and avoid “a massacre of the Latin American people”.
