This Friday, the virtual hearing will begin in which the Public Prosecutor's Office will indict the former president of the Republic of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez for the crimes of procedural fraud and witness bribery in Bogotá.

The victims of the case believe that Uribe, through lawyer Diego Cadena, sought in prisons to bribe witnesses, such as former paramilitary Juan Guillermo Monsalve, so that they would not testify against the former president and his possible links to paramilitarism, in a dispute he had with Iván Cepeda.

Telesur highlighted that a judge from Bogotá, Sandra Heredia, responsible for coordinating the indictment hearing after the first prosecutor delegated to the Supreme Court of Justice Gilberto Iván Villarreal, who took up the case by distribution and not by special assignment as happened with previous prosecutors, called Uribe to trial.
