Last Tuesday, the plenary of the Senate of the Republic of Colombia approved in a second debate the pension reform promoted by President Gustavo Petro with a vote of 49 for yes and four for no.

After the approval of the senators, the bill will go to the House of Representatives before becoming law.

“Yes it could, yes it could, yes it could,” shouted the Historical Pact bench about the approval of the initiative in the legislative precinct.

The president wrote in X: “I commend the Senate for taking a big step in passing a bill that seeks to increase coverage so that many more elderly people get a pension.”
