The rescue team from the Republic of Colombia completed eight days of continuous operations in the state of La Guaira, joining forces with local brigades to search and locate survivors after the double earthquake of June 24.
The leader of the Colombian mission, Diana Corrales, described the performance, technical openness and work mystique demonstrated by the Venezuelan civil protection and rescue bodies as impeccable.
Corrales explained that during the day, approximately 20 structural evaluations have been carried out on various fronts of work, after successfully rescuing survivors in a coordinated effort with other international delegations deployed in the country.
He also highlighted that for these operations they have used the latest technology tools for physical and canine location. “We have scanning elements, advanced search radars and specialized listening devices for physical exploration,” he said.
