The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, called for demonstrations in the country's public squares to condemn the threats of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The main demonstration took place in Plaza de Bolívar, in Bogotá, with aftershocks in Cali, Medellín and Cucuta. In each city, citizens gathered with flags and banners to express their opposition to outside interference and their support for the Government.

Petro released an appeal on the social network X to participate at four o'clock in the afternoon in all squares, inviting us to accompany the defense of sovereignty, Telesur reports.

Unions, social groups and civil organizations joined the call. Among the slogans, messages that demanded respect for Colombia and support for official initiatives, such as pension reform, stood out.

In Cucuta, the demonstrators marched to the Simon Bolivar International Bridge, where they met with Venezuelans, giving the day a cross-border character.
