Communist International confirms support for President Nicolás Maduro

In a statement, the Central Committee of the International Communist Organization expressed its support for the victory of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on the occasion of the elections of last July 28.

In the text, he emphasized that the triumph of the Great Patriotic Pole represents “an obstacle to advanced American interference in Latin America,” and a triumph for the peoples of the planet who are not aligned with the neocolonialist policies and practices dictated by Washington.

In addition, the Central Committee of the Organization stated that the elections in the last bulletin gave the revolutionary candidacy the winner with a vote greater than half of the total votes. “This result has been supported by the National Electoral Council (CNE), the highest body of the Venezuelan democratic electoral system, as well as by the multiple organizations that accompanied the process,” he said.

He pointed out that the interests of North American imperialism were not long in coming, and even before the elections were held, they “predicted an outcome resulting from a fraud that could not exist and that was prefabricated by imperial schemes” in the media and in the discursive rhetoric of extremist opponents.

For this reason, the Organization repudiated the expressions of violence generated by extremists and urges the revolutionary forces involved to continue building socialism.
