Communist Party of Cuba condemns U.S. hostility against Venezuela

The Communist Party of Cuba condemned the hostility of the United States Government against Venezuela and reaffirmed its support for the United Socialist Party (PSUV) of that South American nation.

In a statement replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the organization stated that the “threatening deployment of military forces of Yankee imperialism in the Caribbean Sea” confirms the purpose of the US administration to “reimpose the Monroe Doctrine in our region”.

Through the news website Prensa Latina, it became known that the political party described as “fallacious” the White House's accusation of “associating the Venezuelan government and its constitutionally elected President with criminal organizations linked to drug trafficking.”

“The recent assault and criminal seizure of a vessel with Venezuelan oil by Washington's military forces; the total and complete blockade of oil vessels entering and leaving the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and their arbitrary designation as an international terrorist organization, constitute dangerous actions, intentionally articulated, to justify the realization of interventionist interests and Yankee domination,” the text states.
