Community brigades activated for housing reconstruction in Caracas

The brigades with self-government control in each commune will be activated to accompany the reconstruction of homes affected by the earthquakes, said the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez.

He pointed out that 11 buildings are already being intervened and that parish teams are working in areas with structural damage.

Meléndez indicated that the Mayor's Office set up a collection center in Los Flores de Catia to receive construction materials. “Anyone who wants to collaborate can bring their contribution to the collection center. There we concentrated what was acquired and what was delivered by the Venezuela Renace Plan,” he said.

The mayor added that the technical files of the affected buildings are being reviewed to speed up their recovery. “Our people can trust Urban Control teams. We are verifying the files that lie in Urban Control and Cadastre to begin repairs with full documentation,” he said.
