The Congress of Peru approved the dismissal of Dina Boluarte as president of the South American nation with 122 votes in favor, the measure was adopted due to her permanent moral incapacity.

Boluarte was dismissed for not addressing the problem of insecurity, alleging alleged irregularities related to corruption, negligence in office and misuse of official travel. She did not appear before the Chamber of Deputies to defend herself, despite being summoned.

During the debate, Congressman Guillermo Bermejo stated: “You should not stay another minute in the Government. The fact that he didn't come to defend himself shows his inability to face his own actions.”

Boluarte is under tax investigation for alleged illicit enrichment in the “Rolexgate” case, for the purchase of undeclared luxury watches, as well as for his role in suppressing social protests that left more than 50 dead and for allegedly covering up the escape of a former employee wanted by justice.
