Congresswoman Cilia Flores: Many of the Venezuelans who migrated were victims of deception and fraud

The first female combatant of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and member of the National Assembly (AN), Cilia Flores de Maduro, highlighted that many of the Venezuelans who migrated were victims of deception and fraud on the part of the extremist right.

In that scenario, he recalled that the extremists first managed sanctions to affect Venezuelan families, “then they carried out campaigns for the false American dream, everything was a business of the fascist extreme right with our boys and girls.”

“The most affected were grandmothers and grandparents and mothers, who stayed here fighting and working,” he said.

The deputy stressed that “first the coyotes charged to take them away and then a man named Julio Borges, launched a campaign saying that all Venezuelan migrants were scum and became a threat in the world, that's what they said.”

He said that “all the intention to disturb the country and the minds of young people came together, since a whole political campaign was launched with which people are even starting to pay. They're going to pay for the boys in El Salvador.”

Flores described these actions as macabre. “This is what they have used with the issue of migration,” so they called for unity for the entire migrant family and for them to return to Venezuela, to make our country prosper.

“Those boys have solidarity here, ours, the President (Maduro) is not alone and you are not alone, all migrants will return as President,” he stressed.

The statement was made during the ceremony led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who held a meeting with the grandparents and grandmothers of the Fatherland at the inauguration of the House of Grandparents and Grandmothers, located on Avenida Bolívar, in the parish of La Candelaria in Caracas.

Flores also expressed his enthusiasm and congratulated all grandparents and grandmothers for the inauguration of the aforementioned space, about which he pointed out that it is to promote the comprehensive state of well-being of older adults.
