Conny Méndez will be honored with music and workshops at the Casa de la Cultura Alí Primera

The Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, through the Cultural Mission, will hold a commemorative day for the 128th anniversary of the birth of Conny Méndez at the Alí Primera House of Freedom and Culture, in Caracas.

The activity, with free admission, will take place starting at 4:00 in the afternoon and will focus on the musical work of the creator from Caracas, recognized for her contribution to the Venezuelan popular songbook, according to a note from the Ministry for Culture.

The tribute will include performances by Fabiola José, Nathaly Pérez and Ana Cecilia Loyo, accompanied by an ensemble of musicians, who will perform emblematic pieces by the composer.

In advance, training workshops will be offered on traditions and creativity, including doll making with corn leaves, making parrots, joropo jabajero, crafts and painting.

The day will also include recreational activities and a craft fair, as part of a joint effort by cultural institutions to promote community encounter and national identity .
