CORPOELEC carried out preventive maintenance work in La Guajira

The works will benefit more than 85,000 inhabitants of this town in Zulia

In order to improve electricity service in the state of Zulia, personnel from the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) carried out comprehensive preventive maintenance work in the Guajira municipality, benefiting more than 80,000 inhabitants.

According to a press release from CORPOELEC, the work consisted of washing cold insulation and replacing clamps on poles in the Marapáez and Paraguaipoa circuits, to ensure the continuity of electrical service, as well as the installation of disconnectors in the Rio Limón sector and clearing vegetation near the line, in addition to leveling the primary pole in the trunk of the El Mosquito circuit.

In addition, 40 200W solar luminaires were replaced to guarantee public street lighting and benefit the inhabitants of the town of Paraguaipoa of the Wayú and Añú ethnic groups.

On the other hand, technicians from the electric company carried out replacement work on five transformers, starting in the El Calabozo sector, which had a 10kVA equipment.

Meanwhile, in the El Trancador, Campamento and Campo Santo sectors, 25kVA equipment was installed, complementing the work with the installation of power cutters in the branches of the Caño Sawua, Bella Vista, Los Cocos, Hugo Chavez and Tinajitas communities.

These preventive and corrective maneuvers are part of the plan for improvements in electrical distribution networks, which translate into a significant improvement in the quality of electricity service for the inhabitants of the state of Zulia.
