The International Criminal Court (ICC) opened an office in Caracas on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation, during the official visit of prosecutor Karim Khan to Venezuela, within the framework of a spirit of complementarity in judicial matters.

Through its account on the social network X, the ICC noted that this space is aimed at coordinating efforts with Venezuela to “improve national justice initiatives.”

During his stay in Caracas, the ICC Prosecutor held a meeting this Monday with the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to review the policies promoted by the Bolivarian Government with the objective of ensuring the effective implementation of the Rome Statute through strengthened alliances.

Khan also met with the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez; with the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez; and the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, to finalize a joint work plan between the ICC and the different Public Authorities.
