Creole table tennis delegation has five medals in the Chapecó South American Youth Championship

The Venezuelan table tennis team has five medals; divided into one gold, one silver and three bronze medals; in the Chapecó 2026 South American Youth Under-15 and Under-19 Championship, which is being held in Brazil.
The under-19 men's doubles, made up of Carlos Ríos and Jonathan Vegas, won the gold after recovering from an adverse first set (16-18) and then beating the Ecuadorian duo of Joshua Robayo and Boris Villavicencio 3-1 (11-6, 18-16 and 11-4).
In the women's under-15 team category, the team made up of Alondra González, Sofía Criollo, Carla Salvatierra and Valeria Santaella won bronze medals after advancing directly to the semifinals, where they fell 3-1 to Ecuador.
For its part, the men's under-15 team scored an outstanding performance with Jonas Golding, Aram Pérez, Ángel Hernández and Emmanuel Salcedo, who dominated Colombia with a resounding 3-0 in the quarterfinals, repeated the score against Ecuador in the semifinals and, despite giving up 3-0 in the final against Brazil, they won the silver medal.
In the Under-19 category, the women's team made up of Dakota Ferrer, Gabriela López, Paola Zerpa and Bárbara Betancourt also took the podium after reaching the semifinals, where they fell 3-0 to Brazil, winning the bronze medal.
In the same way, the men's under-19 team, formed by Jonathan Vegas, Carlos Ríos, Saúl Bejar and Ludwing Perozo, staged a close 3-2 victory against Colombia in the quarterfinals; later, they yielded 3-1 to Brazil in the semifinals, a result that allowed them to secure another bronze medal.
The action continues this Thursday, April 2, with the under-15 mixed doubles modality, where the Venezuelan doubles are looking for more victories.
