Venezuelan swimmer Lismar Lyon had an outstanding performance at the World Aquatics Championships taking place in Singapore, where she broke her own national record in the 50-meter butterfly event, and is among the best 30 in the world.
In heat nine of the qualifying series, Lyon clocked a time of 26.30 seconds, and finished 22nd overall among more than 50 competitors.
Although this time was not enough to advance to the next round, it marked a significant improvement, breaking its own national record of 26.43 seconds, set in April 2025 during the TYR Pro Swim Series in Fort Lauderdale. This new record established by the Venezuelan swimmer becomes the best time of a Venezuelan athlete in this discipline.
